Improve TV sound – consistent volume and clear speech

Inhalt

The sound provided by TV sets is usually not of the same quality as that provided by other audio sources such as speakers or headphones. This is because the sound from televisions is often neglected, as the focus is more on picture quality.

Reasons for worse TV sound: Flat speekers

Due to the fact that screens have become flatter over the past few years, speakers are finding less space in the TV. They have also had to become smaller and flatter. However, the less vibrating surface a speaker has, the less powerful it is. In addition, the low frequencies are increasingly lost, because the lower the frequency, the more vibration the diaphragm must be able to deliver. The result of this constant reduction in the size of TV speakers is that the bass is almost completely absent from the TV sound and the sound tends to sound nasal to sharp.

Also, TV speakers are often mounted on the bottom or at the back of the TV, which means that the sound is not directed directly to the viewer and instead spreads out into the room. This can make the sound muffled and unclear, especially if the room is not soundproof.

No balanced speekers

Another problem with TV sound is that it is often not well balanced. This means that some sounds can be too loud, while others are too quiet. Dialog, in particular, is often difficult to understand when it is drowned out by other sounds. If the TV is set loud enough to hear the dialog clearly, loud sound effects like explosions can be uncomfortably loud.

The first approach to improving TV sound is to connect additional speaker systems, such as a soundbar. Their larger speakers, which are also directed directly at the listener, significantly increase the heard frequency range so that bass and lower midrange frequencies are now also present again, leading to a rounder sound image.

This leaves the problem of fluctuating volume levels and sometimes unintelligible dialogs in movies, between programs and commercials, or even when switching between programs or streaming, internet, and TV platforms. It is usually solved neither by the TVs nor by the sound systems connected to them. So-called “Night-Modes” or “Clear Speech” functions in these devices usually reduce the sound quality, so they are not a permanent solution, as they are quickly deactivated after the first listening attempts because the resulting sound is unnatural.

World’s First: HDSX TV Sound Optimizer for consistent volume and clear speech for TV and streaming

The solution: HDSX TV Sound Optimizer

HDSX TV Sound Optimizer can help to solve these problems by improving and optimizing TV sound. HDSX.TV technology uses an algorithm that automatically adjusts the sound to ensure that dialog is clear and intelligible, while intelligently harmonizing loud sound effects to the rest of the movie in volume.

HDSX TV Sound Optimizer analyses the audio signal in real time and adjusts the volume of dialog and other sound effects to ensure that the sound is well balanced and all components of the audio signal sound optimal. The sound result is consistent volume and clear speech on all channels.

Another advantage of the HDSX TV Sound Optimizer is that it can be used in conjunction with any TV and the sound system connected to it. It is simply integrated into the signal path between the TV and the sound system via plug and play. It takes just a few minutes and is a breeze to set up. Once connected, the Optimizer runs in the background and automatically adjusts the sound without any manual intervention. Once the desired volume has been set, it doesn’t change afterwards. At the same time, in spatial terms the speech moves in front of the music and noise, so that it is more intelligible.
